CDPS and chief digital officers working in the open

CDPS work closely with the chief digital officers in local government, Welsh Government and health. As a group, they have identified strategic priorities which are relevant across all sectors, and they meet regularly to discuss, plan and action work to address these.

The group are committed to working in the open and will communicate priorities and progress on a monthly basis through a short video, which will be shared on all our social channels.

This month’s video will be published early next week.

Supporting delivery teams

A big part of our work as a comms team is to support delivery teams to talk about their work in a way that is user focused, compliant (with Welsh language standards for example) and accessible.

Working with delivery teams, we’re developing a framework which will give both existing and new teams in CDPS the tools they need to work in the open.

We’re testing our first iteration and already have had some great feedback which will improve how we work together. We aim to publish it via our weeknotes later this month.

User centred recruitment

Jo Goodwin, our Head of User Centred Design is keen to build a permanent team focusing on building accessible, bilingual services. This week 4 roles went live on our website and we’ve encouraged staff members to share them on social media:

Blog posts

This week we published two blog posts:

Communities, tools and accessibility – three priorities for user-centred design – CDPS’s Head of User Centred Design, Jo Goodwin, sets out the three priorities for user-centred design as she takes up her new role.

From data to debt, what I’ve learned working with CDPS – in this guest blog post, Neil Butt describes how working with CDPS gave the Welsh Revenue Authority a platform to change how they manage and deliver services.

Website redevelopment project

This week, the final 3 suppliers presented to CDPS, and a unanimous decision was made during the evaluation. The winning supplier is a Welsh agency that places users and user-centred design at the core of its work.
