What we…

Liked

Being focused on delivering a few projects well, rather than being spread across too many.

Lacked

Time; the Easter bank holidays cut this comms sprint cycle by 20%!

Learned

That so long as you can rely on yourself and your colleagues, pressure is no bad thing.

Social media highlights

Gem here! It’s been a busy week and I’ve captured highlights from last week too as there’s been so much going on. Take a look below.

We held our first in-person Dolenni Digidol event at M-SParc on 4 April. It was a really productive and successful event, you can catch the main points on our Twitter thread.

We published a blog post last week on our cost of living project. The blog specifically covered the experiences of a Welsh translator brought in to trio-write with a subject matter expert and content designer. It’s a relatively new concept which is reflected in the positive comments we received below.

We, as an arm’s length body, have to comply with the Welsh language standards and we always give Welsh and English equal status.

It’s great that David gave us kudos for our approach. Following on from the recent building bilingual services talk by Laura Truelove on bilingual social media, we will be trialling a new approach. We are going to look at publishing ‘Wenglish’ posts - watch this space on how this does!

How others can learn from our comms team

Gem here again! As part of a recent Communicating Digital Community of Practice, we asked if people would like to come and shadow our sprint planning sessions and Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council were up for it! During this sprint, we welcomed Kath and four of her team members which was a really positive experience.

They joined us for the sprint plan and then the retro. They wanted to see how we approached sprint planning. This way of working has been a recent thing for them (and for us) so it was nice to be able to share our learnings. They had opportunities to ask questions and will be sharing their feedback with us. Ellie from the team sent over this following the sprint planning session:
