Social media highlights

Hello, Gemma here! I’ve had a personal highlight happen over on LinkedIn this week. Following on from the International Women’s Day blog post I coordinated, I was approached by someone looking for panellists for an event on women in tech. Now I wouldn’t consider myself a woman working in tech but I know how important it is to support women in their careers and felt my experiences of working for CDPS would be relevant. CDPS seeks to be the best it can be and so it’s an opportunity to fly the flag for Wales.

I met one of the other panelists this week and we talked about the need to have family-friendly and women-friendly policies in the workplace. I mentioned our period and menopause policy which she got excited about! I’m really looking forward to sharing why we’re trying to push the norms and challenge the way things are usually done. The event is taking place in London in April, wish me luck!

This week a number of spaces became available on our Agile for leaders training. It was positive to see someone else promoting the course as sometimes it can feel a bit one-sided when pushing out social media messages.

Website – preparing for second round of testing

This week the website team have been getting the demo website ready for the second round of testing with users. We’ve also been recruiting participants and making sure any changes and fixes have been done from the last testing session, as well as adding new content.

We also met with the user-centred design team to plan the tasks and questions we’ll ask of the participants to get a good understanding of how they find the website.

We also met with the team who are leading our new CRM (Customer Relationship Management) system to discuss transferring data from the website to HubSpot, where we’ll manage our events booking system and contact lists.

We also agreed accessibility testing requirements from an external provider, Digital Accessibility Centre so we can ensure the website is accessible.

Only a few more weeks till launch now! 🤞
