Communicating digital: cool collaboration tools

The comms team held our monthly Communicating Digital Community of Practice meeting on Wednesday, with the theme of ‘Online tools for collaboration’. Comms folk from throughout the Welsh public sector and beyond join these lively sessions.

We welcomed three speakers:

• Simon Busch, lead content designer at CDPS, demonstrated how our team use Trello to speed up, and smooth out, content production – it’s all about automating what you can to focus on the things that require the most skill and attention
• Victoria Mitchell, delivery manager for social care, showed us how her project uses Notion to publish weeknotes – a promising platform that’s a bit like Google Docs, WordPress and a wiki rolled into one
• Rick Stock, delivery lead on the Digital Landscape Review, showed how his team use Mural to develop ideas collectively – it’s another popular platform whose virtual ‘whiteboards’, without size limit, are super-useful for visualising service development, user journeys and much more.

Twitter: 2nd highest spike

We had our second highest ever spike in CDPS Twitter followers this week, as we targeted NHS managers with posts about our user research courses for senior health staff. At 1,900 followers, we’re ever closer to the 2k barrier.
