Website

This week the website team held a show and tell discussing what we’ve been up to during beta including launching the public beta version of the website, conducting user research, iterating and improving content based on user feedback and data, considering accessibility, security and technology and working within the GEL (Global Experience Language) design standards.

If you missed it, catch up on the recording

The team also had reporting training on our new CRM, HubSpot and met with the skills team to discuss integration between the website and CRM for building a ticketing system for courses.

Social media highlights

Gem here, it’s been another busy one on socials this week. Also, with the news that Meta has launched Threads, I wonder how long I’ll be gathering stuff from Twitter, watch this space!

We launched our summer series of lunch and learns this week, thanks Rob for your kind endorsement:

We welcomed Phillipa Knowles as our new Head of Operations this week. As well as our announcement, Phillipa posted to her LinkedIn account which got lots of lovely comments and well wishes. Welcome to the team Phillipa, it’s great to have you join us.

We also arranged an open show and tell on Monday 10 July for organisations interested in developing a digital apprenticeship scheme, it was great to see Lauren pushing it from her own social channels:

Away day

Ed here. I’m going to give a short update on our team away day on Thursday.

It was great to get together face to face (we last did this in April), look back, celebrate the work we did in quarter one (April - June) and set our roadmap for the the next quarter.

From my perspective, the away day was a success because team members took ownership of various parts of the day. It provided variety and a change of pace and voice.

We were joined by our new Head of Operations, Phillipa Knowles. Day 4 in the role and she discussed her priorities and also asked some great questions about how ops (IT, finance, procurement, HR and governance) have support us a team - what’s worked well, and what could have been done better. Great for the team to meet Phillipa face to face so early on.

Our first session of the day focused on things we were proud of - things which we could measure (backed up by a metric) and also a success that was harder to measure - but felt like a success nonetheless. What a fabulous way to start the day - with no one choosing the same thing!

We then reviewed our vision and objectives as a team. Are they still relevant? Do they need tweaking?
