Recruitment - getting the best out of candidates

This week, we were tagged in a tweet debating whether employers should send interview questions in advance to candidates during the recruitment process. It was a lively thread where previous and current CDPS employees shared their thoughts on why it can be a positive thing.

If you are involved in recruitment, is this something you practice?

Tech Net Zero

We recently published our Tech Net Zero discovery report and blog post which gained momentum on social media this week with partner organisations involved in the research also tweeting about the findings. We also had some positive comments about the work:

Digital medicines - exploring how we work in the open

We’re delighted to be working with the Digital Medicines Transformation Portfolio - a programme to make the prescribing, dispensing and administration of medicines everywhere in Wales, easier, safer, more efficient, and more effective through digital transformation.

We’re working on two separate pieces of work - one focussing on primary care (GPs), and the other on secondary care (hospitals).

This week we met Rhian Hamer (portfolio director) and Alison Watkins (strategic comms lead) to plan content for the next few months. We want to tell the story of the partnership, our approach and why we’ve started with the two projects we have. More to follow soon.

Implementing a Welsh version of the Civil Service Jobs portal

After a summer break, the building bilingual services community of practice is back on Thursday 15 September.

We’ll be joined by Monica Maya-Martinez, digital delivery manager working in Government Shared Services to talk about their approach in implementing a Welsh version of the Civil Service Jobs portal.

If you want to attend this session, sign up to our community of practice.

Video still leading the way: August comms and engagement report

Gemma has gathered data and insight this week for the August comms and engagement report. August is traditionally a quiet month for comms and engagement activity but our activity has provided us with some golden nuggets of insight.

Video has yet again proved to be a popular form of content. LinkedIn has seen a particular spike with a 200% video view increase compared with July. 3 of our top 5 LinkedIn posts were videos last month which is a shift in what we’ve seen previously. Now that we have Josh, our visual designer onboard, we will look to explore video and animation further in producing content.
