The design team planned the approach to designing and testing content through the next phase of work. Usability testing starts in June, so we worked week-by-week to plan the delivery of each piece of content - from workshops with subject matter experts (SMEs), content design and asynchronous content critiques we are calling ‘show the thing’, to help us get early feedback on things like understandability and readability, before full usability testing begins.
It was great to catch up with the team on the plans for the MVP, and I was able to see exactly how I can support the development over the next few months as product manager of the website.
During the alpha phase of the development I was able to work with the team to understand the work, and feed back with areas that would need consideration (i.e., the need to meet the Welsh Government design standards) and other work that would need to be coordinated with the service manual development.
This has meant that we all share an understanding of how the service manual will meet the users needs, and the practical consideration of how we can meet these needs. I’m looking forward to the next steps!
