EDI action group

Gem here, this week our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion working group met, and as I’m leading on internal comms and passionate about inclusion I’ve been helping shape priorities and actions following on from our EDI staff survey.

Being involved in such an important piece of work has been really good. We met to discuss how we can work on the now, next, later actions. I’ve offered to look at anonymous feedback / suggestion boxes and also do a channel audit (the channel audit is long overdue so I’m looking forward to getting stuck in).

This week the group also met to agree on ways of working - an important initial step to make sure the team gels and starts off on the right foot 😊 We have an internal Delivery Manager looking after the work too which is another positive thing as it means it momentum will hopefully not drop and goals will be set.

Communities of practice

Gem again! On Wednesday the Communicating Digital Community of Practice met and welcomed Heledd Evans from Natural Resources Wales and her team who gave a presentation on why they started writing weeknotes and their tips for ‘working in the open’.

It was a well-attended session with lots of questions on the how and why to write weeknotes. Organisations in attendance included Powys Healthboard, Carers Trust, Cardiff University, Digital Health and Care Wales, Rhondda Cynon Taff council and Welsh Government.

I summarised what we covered over on LinkedIn (another way that I ‘work in the open’ 😉)

It was lovely of Heledd to give a shoutout over on Twitter too:

PowerPoint and Word templates

Rejoice! Josh here with a long-awaited update on Word and PowerPoint templates.

Previously you needed to go gather a blank version of our PowerPoint template or either of our organisation-wide Word templates (Normal and Legal). However, these are now accessible directly via your Word or PowerPoint apps, right from your work devices!

To access them, click File > New from Template and select whichever you need. For most purposes, the CDPS.dotm is ideal. The Legal.dotm is more for procurement, contracts, and so forth.

PowerPoint just has the one template but with myriad slide designs within. We also have the co-branded version for use in joint projects, however that isn’t available directly as it stands; contact me if you need one.

You can find out more about our templates and their usage on our brand guidelines page.

I’ve also been given access to the organisational template control area, which means I can update these and add to them with much greater ease than previously. Watch this space!
