Understandably skills in the digital domain itself are needed, to understand the constraints and capabilities of digital technology, but as importantly to understand the possibilities. Much of the best practice on carbon reduction in digtial is happening on the basis of an understanding what is possible, with the motivation to achieve positive results fuelled by understanding those possibilities. It is not always obvious that a digital change can also have a carbon reduction side effect. Teams and hence decision makers need to be well informed on what is possible from a digital perspective and how it relates to net zero.
